Sage Durvasa visited Shri Ram with urgent news, but Ram was in a meeting. To protect Ayodhya from a curse, Lakshman interrupted, forcing Ram to exile him due to his kingly vow. Accepting his fate, Lakshman went to the river Sarayu and transitioned using yogic means.

Ram was in a private meeting and had directed Lakshman not to allow anyone to disturb him. Durvasa threatened to curse the whole of Ayodhya if he was not to be allowed in. Lakshman made the noble decision to interrupt Ram’s meeting with Lakshman to protect Ayodhya.
